I had another ride on the Raleigh “Ikea” folding bike today, this time travelling about four miles. I thought that would be enough for now as I have not cycled far during the past couple of months but, as it turned out, I could have cycled at least twice as far had the scenery been a bit more interesting. I will not claim that the folder is as comfortable as my full-size bike. It is not but it is not bad either and certainly acceptable for short and medium journeys. Unfortunately the saddle doesn’t allow sufficient rearward adjustment to give me a better seating position. Perhaps an alternative saddle would help.
On closer inspection today I realised that the gears are further out of adjustment than I had thought previously, so no prizes for guessing what I will be doing sometime during the weekend if this mild, dry weather continues.
PS: Sunday 21st February – Sorted the gears today in a matter of minutes. All seems well at last.
